Journal Special Issues
Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics / Atmospheric Measurement Techniques Journal
An important issue now is the publication of the presentations from the ICMGP 2019 in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Ashu Dastoor agreed to organize a special issue of the Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics Journal (ACP) and act as a Guest Editor for this issue. The ACP is a prestigious and open access peer-reviewed journal.
If you are interested to publish your presentation in ACP, please, contact Dr. Dastoor at:
This will be an interactive open-access European Geosciences Union(EGU) Inter-Journal Special Issue: Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics (ACP) and Atmospheric Measurement Techniques (AMT).
Inter-journal Special Issue (ACP/AMT): Research results from the 14th International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP 2019), MercOx project and iGOSP and iCUPE projects of ERA-PLANET in support of Minamata Convention on Mercury
Authors can submit their contributions by using the online registration form on the ACP website: https://www.atmospheric-chemistry-and-physics.net.
The deadline for submission is 31 Dec 2021.
Statement of purpose:
An interactive open-access European Geosciences Union(EGU) Inter-Journal Special Issue between Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics (ACP) and Atmospheric Measurement Techniques (AMT) is being organized to report research advancements in the understanding of mercury sources, distribution pathways, levels, physicochemical characterization, measurement traceability, impacts on global ecosystems and policy relevant information presented at the ICMGP 2019 and developed under MercOx (Metrology of oxidized mercury) project and two ERA-PLANET initiatives - Integrative and Comprehensive Understanding on Polar Environments (iCURE) and Integrated Global Observing Systems for Persistent Pollutants (iGOSP). The special issue is open to all publications related to the scope of the Special Issue.

Mercury and Methylmercury Contamination of Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecosystems / Applied Sciences
We are organizing a special issue entitled “Mercury and Methylmercury Contamination of Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecosystems” in the Applied Sciences (ISSN 2076-3417, Applied Sciences). After watching such interesting presentations at ICMGP 2019, we think that this issue may complete the space for the publication of such presentations together with the already announced special issue at the Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics Journal (ACP). We invite you to consider submitting a contribution to this special issue.
The Special Issue on “Mercury and Methylmercury Contamination of Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecosystems” focus novel aspects on processes driving Hg sources, key transformations (i.e., methylation/demethylation) and Hg accumulation in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem compartments at various spatial and temporal scales. Contributions that link source tracking and accumulation in ecosystem compartments using Hg isotopes are greatly encouraged. Studies may focus on local, regional, or global scales and Hg contamination in both the natural (temperate and extreme) and anthropogenic (urban, agricultural, mining) areas.
For more details please find at Applied Sciences
The deadline for manuscript submission is 30 April 2020.
Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1500 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service before publication or during author revisions.
Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to hearing from you.
